Latest news on the OLPC

This, from Slashdot:

Yesterday Nicholas Negroponte, (…) current head of the nonprofit One Laptop Per Child project, gave analysts and journalists an update on the OLPC project. Two big changes were announced — the $100 OLPC is now the $175 OLPC, and it will be able to run Windows.

    I understand that kids need to learn how to deal with the Blue Screen of Death, but a 75% cost increase is way too much.
